Who are Shift View users in Evocon?

Shift View user role in Evocon is for production operators. The reason to call it a "Shift View" role or user, is that these users only have access to Shift View, where they see the information on current and previous production shifts.

In the Shift View, operators can register themselves to work on the shift, add comments for production stops, mark product changeovers and mark production scrap. This input that operators give is very important in getting correct OEE statistics and understanding the reasons for production downtime.

Important information about the Shift View user

  1. For ease of use, security and data access control we suggest having one user with a Shift View role per station, machine or production line. This user will be used by all the operators who work at that station and each operator registers themselves in the Shift View when they start working. Follow this link to see how this is done.
  2. In case the production operator is responsible for multiple machines and needs to access real-time production information on those machines simultaneously then it is also possible to give this user access to multiple production machines or stations that are connected to Evocon.
  3. Users with the Shift View role should always be logged in with the password saved to the local computer (with only admin access). This ensures that operators do not have access to Shift View outside of work which minimizes the probability of malicious or accidental production data manipulation.
    • Note: It is also possible to restrict "Shift View" user access to Evocon from a predefined list of IP-addresses. If IP-filter is enabled, "Shift view" users can only use Evocon from inside the company network. Please contact support@evocon.com to set this up.
  4. We also recommend that the factory administrator creates all users with Shift View role in one factory so that there is one person in the company who is responsible for managing those users and their passwords.

  5. In the station list define which stations the user will have access to and whether the access should be "read & write" or "read-only".

  6. Enable time restriction if necessary (more information here).

  7. Click Apply to confirm and continue. This action does not create the user account yet, but applies the role.

  8. Enter an e-mail address that could be used to reset the account's password. Administrators can use their own e-mail address for multiple users, so they can reset the passwords of Shift View users very quickly via e-mail.

    • By default this is filled with the account creator's e-mail address.
  9. Define the preferences for this user account:

    • Select the necessary languages

      • Shift View users have a wider selection of languages available than other user types, because Shift View module is translated into more languages than the rest of the modules. More information available here.
    • Default station - this is an optional field. More information here.

    • Number format - how to display numbers to this user.
